BIM AUDITING & COMPLIANCE
Independent assessment of model quality, data integrity and standards compliance with structured, transparent audit deliverables.
01 Audit Scope
Audits are scoped to assess specific aspects of BIM deliverables against defined standards, typically the EIR, BEP, or contractual obligations. The scope may cover a single discipline model, a federated coordination model, or the full information management process.
Each audit engagement begins with a scope agreement that defines assessment criteria, sample sizes, reporting format and any exclusions.
02 Review Methodology
Reviews follow a structured methodology combining automated rule-based checking with expert visual inspection. Automated checks validate data completeness, naming compliance and classification accuracy. Visual review assesses modelling quality, spatial intent and coordination readiness.
- Automated rule-set execution against project standards
- Manual sampling of model elements for data accuracy
- Process review of CDE workflows and status management
- Cross-discipline consistency verification
03 Compliance Checks
- Model file naming compliance
- Element classification accuracy (Uniclass / custom)
- Parameter completeness and data population
- Geometric accuracy and spatial coordination
- Level of information Need conformance
- CDE status and revision protocol adherence
- Deliverable alignment to EIR requirements
04 Audit Deliverables
Each audit produces a structured report including findings, severity classification, recommended corrective actions and overall compliance scoring. Reports are designed to be actionable rather than simply diagnostic.
- Compliance scorecard with RAG status by assessment area
- Detailed findings register with evidence references
- Corrective action recommendations with priority ranking
- Executive summary suitable for project governance reporting
